artworxLA Completes its 2013-14 Public Presentations

What an amazing year of Public Presentations! Last week, artworxLA capped off its 2013-2014 creative workshop season, with student performances at UCLA, Los Angles Central Library, and Skirball Cultural Center. For more than 33 weeks, artworxLA over 650 students were engaged in arts intensive programs which explored the themes of“Art and Activism”, “Homer’s The Odyssey”, and “Identity”. For a minimum of two hours each week, students, teaching artists, and workshop coordinators diligently collaborated together, to find a creative pathway to explore these concepts. The resulting projects ranged from performance pieces, music mash ups, short films, poems, and visual art works to name only a few.

We at artworxLA would like to extend our warmest gratitude to UCLA, UCLA: Sex Squad, The Readers of Homer, Los Angeles Central Library and Skirball Cultural Center for supporting not only our students, but the education of LA's youth.  We also extend this gratitude to those of have supported artworxLA students through donations through our Annual Fund and at our recent 22nd Annual Gala.  Thanks to each and everyone of you for supporting a pathway for our students' success.
