Maria Ramos

Maria Isabel Ramos is a multi-faceted visual artist, art historian, and educator from Zamora, Michoacán, Mexico.  She studied Fine Arts while completing her BA in Art Education at California State, University at Long Beach.  Her work is mostly figurative, with major themes highlighting the human body through various emotional states.  Being a self-represented artist gives her the freedom and proficiency to express herself with mixed media; acrylic being her preferred medium.  Maria’s work forms part of private collections and appears in various scholarly publications.  She has exhibited at numerous group shows and invitational exhibitions in the United States and abroad.  She resides in the city of Los Angeles where she works as a Museum Educator/Teaching Artist for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA)
