Jocelyn Casas

Jocelyn Casas (she/ her/ hers) is an arts educator/ arts advocate based in South East Los Angeles. She received her MFA from Otis College of Art and Design in 2017. As a teaching artist, her goal for her students is to expand their visual literacy skills and knowledge by introducing them to historical and contemporary artists, build their confidence to exercise these skills, and create a cycle of growth, learning, and respect to be carried into their own communities. She has received thorough training in trauma and social emotional wellness informed teaching practices and has been with ArtworxLA since 2018. Jocelyn is the proud daughter of Mexican immigrants and loves taking evening walks with her daughter and their australian cattle dog, Sandwich.
