Eva Minh-Châu Liebovitz is a Vietnamese-American animator and designer working and living on Chumash, Tongva, Tataviam and Kizh land. She graduated from CalArts in 2023 with a BFA in Experimental Animation with a concentration in Social Science. Her artmaking practice started as her grandmothers, aunts, and community members taught her to sew, knit, embroider, cook, and make household items. Eva’s work as a visual artist is characterized by experimental and traditional techniques, as well as themes of cultural history, connection to place, and coming of age.

Eva began working as a Teaching Artist with artworxLA in 2021, guiding students through the complex but rewarding process of stop-motion animation. She is now a Workshop Coordinator while continuing to work in the animation industry as a freelancer.
