Raúl joined artworxLA in 2009 and is dedicated to uplifting students and communities through transformative arts experiences. With over 20 years of experience in arts education and community engagement, Raúl previously served in teen and outreach programs at MOCA and LACMA, and fundraising in coordinating LACMA’s Muse program. As Artistic Director, he oversees artworxLA programs and forges partnerships with schools, creative professionals, museums, cultural and civic institutions to find the meaningful intersections of student voices and relevant content. Raúl is humbled to collaborate over the years with amazing schools and organizations in artworxLA’s expanded efforts into arts intensive academies, workforce development/creative pathways, and juvenile justice programming.
