MEET XOCHITL

What’s a fun fact about you?
She feels powerful in a red lip.
She published her first collection of poetry, Posada: Offerings of Witness and Refuge in 2016.
What book have you enjoyed recently?
One of my favorite books of 2019 was (The Other House) by Rocío Carlos. She's a local LA poet, and educator. Everyone should know her book!
What do you love about artworxLA?
I always say that one perk of the job is meeting and learning from talented visual and performing artists, and being introduced to new art forms and community spaces.

I am a singer/ songwriter and photographer. I LOVE cookies, and on a worldwide quest to find the best cookie in all the land.

What do you love about artworxLA?
I love that artworxLA is a growing network and community of artists, educators, creative industries, cultural partners and more! We're all working towards supporting students in their education and beyond that - breaking barriers to access and connecting young people to opportunity through creative approaches.

What do you love about artworxLA?
1. Students are amazing, and talking to students is my favorite thing.
2. Everyone is an artist and it's amazing to work with creative minds even in the office. There are so many creative solutions to challenges when you are working with artists!
