In May, artworxLA students explored the Autry Museum of the American West’s special exhibition Waterways and learned about Indigenous perspectives on water, traditional ecological knowledge, and our interdependent relationships with the natural environment. On May 16th and 17th, students from over 20 different high schools gathered at the Autry to share strategies for becoming water protectors through projects in visual arts, performance, and video. Guests were invited to listen in on the presentations, celebrate with students in the outdoor courtyard, and participate in a silk screen printing demonstration.
