Take a couple of minutes to watch my story

Meet Jonathan, an artworxLA student who aspires to be a music producer.

He says, “Before artworxLA, I was always negative, always down on life. Now, I want to challenge myself. I want to try. I feel like I am where I need to be.”

Jonathan was expelled from middle school and sent to artworxLA. His interests in drawing and music kept him engaged in his studies. artworxLA enabled him to complete a music immersion program at The GRAMMY Museum, and participate in summer residency programs at Art Center and UCLA. Jonathan plans on studying science and music production after completing high school.

Filmmaker Rich Lee and his partner Louise Baker Lee spent an entire day with Jonathan, learning about his creative process, his life, his neighborhood, and the impact artworxLA has had on his life. Watch this beautiful short film capturing their day together.
