artworxLA students explore MIDi controllers with Ableton

You can make beats and music on almost any kind of device! That was the message that artworxLA students heard during a mind blowing two hour workshop with Ableton Certified instructor Jerry DiPhillippo who also teaches at Icon Collective. Students saw first hand how to use MIDI controllers to make music on Ableton software. Even an old classic NES controller can be configured to trigger sound samples and build musical chords. Our students were also introduced to a non-traditional instrument known as the Alphasphere, a cutting edge 3D MIDI controller for Ableton.
