Summit on Creative Youth Development

In March 2014, artworxLA was in Boston to join a group of 200 leaders, funders, policymakers, researchers and youth from the Creative Youth Development field to produce a national policy agenda.

The summit was presented by the The President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, the National Guild for Community Arts Education, and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

The two day gathering resulted in a policy and advocacy agenda to be implemented at the local, state, and national levels:

The agenda identifies five key imperatives and calls for expanded public and philanthropic support for cross-sector collaborations, improved livability and economic viability of communities; a more just and equitable society; documentation and bold communication; funding and sustainability. artworxLA Executive Director Cynthia Campoy Brophy was the Caucus Chair for the "Communicating Collective Impact" group. Click here to read the press release reporting on the summit's final policy outcomes
