Honoring Asian American and Pacific Islander voices

Join us as we reflect, learn, and appreciate the contributions of Asian American and Pacific Islander communities

This Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, artworxLA both celebrates and recognizes the innumerable artistic contributions from AAPI communities. We are proud to work with cultural partners across Los Angeles that honor and uplift AAPI voices. Partners like the Korean Cultural Center, the USC Pacific Asia Museum, and many more are integral in connecting our students with the diverse histories, cultures, and experiences of AAPI communities.

In 2018, artworxLA students explored the relationship between monuments and collective memory with the Japanese American National Museum (JANM). Studying the events of Japanese American internment on its 75th anniversary, students created powerful works examining the power and place of memorials.

Stay tuned as we continue to highlight influential AAPI voices and organizations that continue to directly impact the artworxLA community.

Let the countdown begin!

In just two weeks we'll gather in-person together at the historic Hollywood Roosevelt for An Evening of Art. Set in the heart of Hollywood, this unforgettable evening will feature a cocktail hour, hors d'oeuvres, dessert, an interactive art-making activity, the culmination of our art auction, and much more.

Sip and celebrate artworxLA's 30 years of change-making, all while connecting with our growing community of creative leaders, entertainment and technology professionals, artists, designers, and arts supporters.
