Joanna

Before joining artworxLA at Central High School-All People’s, Joanna lost interest in school due to large class sizes and lack of diversity in the courses provided. Inspired by her experiences in artworxLA dance and theatre classes, she joined Advanced Program residencies for two consecutive years at the Bootleg Theatre and earned a scholarship with Contra-Tiempo Dance Company. Each experience gave Joanna a newfound conviction toward broadening her education. Joanna is currently studying biology at Los Angeles City College, and plans on becoming a veterinarian.
