Javier Hernandez
Javier Hernandez (he/him) is currently a teaching artist with artworxLA from Whittier, California. Since the early 1990s, Javier’s career has spanned art, comic books, and radio hosting. Best known for creating the superhero comic book series El Muerto: The Aztec Zombie, Javier has created a wealth of works under his independent imprint Los Comex—which he founded in 1998. When he’s not creating comic books, he also hosts LOS COMEX TV, co-founded the LATINO COMICS EXPO, designs outstanding graphic tees, and is the Associate Producer of the EL MUERTO film adaptation (2007). His ability to seamlessly blend art with culture, mysticism, and tradition provides our students with exemplary support and guidance.
