Raul Flores named as artworxLA's new Artistic Director!

We are thrilled to announce that Raúl Flores will be artworxLA's new Artistic Director!

Raúl has been actively involved in arts education for over 15 years, joining artworxLA in 2009 as a Workshop Coordinator. Raúl's background in museum education includes extensive community outreach experience. As an Education Coordinator at MOCA, Raúl directed the Teens of Contemporary Art program, co-facilitated the MOCA Apprenticeship Program, and coordinated the First Visit & Beyond outreach program. At LACMA, he coordinated the LACMA Muse membership program and worked as a Teaching Artist in libraries throughout Southern California through LACMA On-Site: Art in the Community. Most recently, Raúl launched artworxLA's intensive arts programming at Hollywood Media Arts Academy, which grew to a model program for the impact of arts on alternative education.  In addition to strengthening and growing our current school and community partnerships, Raúl is looking forward to leading artworxLA's expansion into creative pathways programming for youth involved in the justice system.
