The Localist visits the HMAA

artworxLA is thrilled to have the opportunity to be showcased on Samara Bay's new series The Localist. The Localist is an online web series shown on IN Hollywood TV's YouTube network. Each week, TV Host Samara Bay visits the many local attractions around Hollywood.

On February 10th, Samara and her film crew got an extensive look into how our organization combats the high school drop out crisis through arts education. During this visit, she interviewed with staff, students, and our teaching artists to get a glimpse into the ways our students are examining this year's theme, "A Journey Home", in which students are examining Homer's epic poem The Odyssey. The theme was developed in partnership with The LA Central Library and Readers of Homer.
