Lamar

Lamar is one of the first students to be a part of our newly launched Design + Media Arts Academy. Before his involvement in our programs, Lamar surrounded himself with the “wrong crowd” which was a negative influence on his overall interest in school. Through artworxLA programs, Lamar could reestablish his appreciation for education and catch up on his high school credits. Within a year, Lamar has been part of our Advanced Programs courses in Music Production and Leadership Development. His interests in leadership and public speaking resulted in Lamar giving the opening address for the official launch of the Design + Media Arts Academy. On track to graduate, Lamar is interested in going to a four-year University to earn his B.A. and looks forward to earning an M.A. in Engineering after he finishes high school.
