Liliflor Ramirez, p.k.a. Liliflor, is an artist, muralist, and cultural art educator who uses art for healing and transformation.Born and raised in Los Angeles, Lilia's art is a love letter to her community, culture, and roots. As a first-generation Mexican American “Chicana,” her journey began in the underground art scene of the 80s + 90s hip hop and graffiti movements fueling her passion for creativity, education, and transformation.. An “artivist hybrid visionary,” Liliflor has served her community since 1994, co-founding the Peace and Justice Center (1995) and Mujeres de Maiz (1997). She opened her first gallery, First Street Studios, in 2006, and now works from Kalli Luna Gallery in Boyle Heights, CA. Her curated projects include Sounds of Solidarity L.A. and Diosa Magic, a collective of artisans offering interactive cultural art workshops.
