Lizette Hernandez
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Lizette is a first-generation Mexican-American artist whose practice centers on sculpture and collaboration with clay. Guided by listening to the land, her work explores inheritance, regeneration, and the interconnectedness of all living things. Her process blends tradition with experimentation. She uses plant matter in pit firing, Raku techniques, and unexpected elements like recycled glass! Lizette brings both skill and spirit to her teaching, inviting students to explore material, memory, and meaning.
Her work has been exhibited at cultural institutions around the city, including Charlie James Gallery, Jeffrey Deitch Gallery, the Craft Contemporary Museum.
